I found a zine online by the Illumnati Girl Gang particularly interesting. I was looking at the third volume (http://vol3.illuminatigirlgang.com/). The zines made by the Illuminati Girl Gang are published both online and a printed copy can be ordered. The about page on the main website says that they are a publication for female expression in the arts and that the publication/group continues to build support for female-identified artists. I only looked at volume 3 but it consisted of a variety of art and poems from over 25 different female artists. Many of the works combine multiple mediums to convey messages regarding female experience. I found the work by Maya Malou Lyse’s combination of the search bar from a browser with photographs and effective way of conveying a message regarding wondering and not knowing. Other pieces on the blog include poems, prose, journal entries, self portraits. Many posts also include a biography of the artist link to blogs they write for or saying something about them. Furthermore I found it interesting that the blog description specifically mentions that it is for female-identifying artists. It can be seen in the pieces that the zine explores a broad spectrum of what femininity is and how to navigate it in regards to many outside forces. Below are a variety of images from the zine.
