There is definitely something to be said for women in bedazzled “clothes”, excessive makeup, perfectly permed hair, and an artificial tan. Oh yeah, and there is another woman of the same description wrestling with her. According to the Sontag and Doty articles, “camp” isn’t supposed to appeal to the greater masses of people. In fact, I am not really sure what demographic WWF Women’s Wrestling appeals to, but its excessiveness makes it seem very camp. The biggest indicators of WWF being camp are the combination of glam and physical violence, and the specific viewer culture of following one specific wrestler as if they were an American Idol contestant.
